Choosing an exchange

How to compare crypto exchange services

Compare spot trading accounts, instant exchanges and wallet-connected swaps by funding, custody, costs and location restrictions.

Choose a trading account for order-book trades or bank funding, a deposit exchange for sending crypto to another wallet, or a wallet-connected swap for on-chain tokens. Compare the exact product’s location rules, custody, fees and funding or withdrawal costs before you use it.

Rate, fees & limitsDetails

Applies only to the selected amount, assets and networks. Changing the amount, assets, networks or direction requires a new estimate. The rate is floating, not a locked payout.

Select both assets and networks and enter an amount to request an estimate. No price or minimum is shown until a valid response arrives.

Do not send below the reported minimum. A missing or zero minimum is unknown. An unverified maximum does not mean unlimited.

Fee inclusion is unknown: fees may be included or deducted separately. Missing fee data does not mean a free exchange. Check any withdrawal or network charge in your sending wallet separately.

No validity duration or price-lock deadline is confirmed. Receipt time records when NO1 received the estimate, not a price lock. A floating estimate can change before processing.

This is not an all-in fee calculation or an execution guarantee. Create the order before sending crypto; its deposit instructions identify where and how to pay.

models

Choose the right exchange model

Start with the task. A trading account, a deposit-based exchange and a wallet-connected swap do not share the same funding, custody or settlement flow.

Spot trading account

Use an order book when you want to place a market or limit order, hold assets in an exchange account or fund through a supported bank rail. Check the exact regional product, state, account and asset conditions.

Compare spot accounts

Deposit-based exchange

Send the instructed asset to a service deposit address; the service processes the exchange and sends the payout to your destination. Rate mode, deposit window, checks and funds-control interval matter.

Compare deposit-swap policies

Wallet-connected swap

Connect a wallet and authorize an on-chain transaction. Check the chain, token contract, approval, price impact and network fee. This is not the same workflow as sending a deposit to an exchange service.

Compare settlement models

accounts

Trading accounts and market access

Read the product and location conditions together. A service name, global listing or US-based operator does not establish access for every state or account.

The accepted comparison contains full account choices, product-specific conditions and source notes in the sections below.

Choose an account-based spot product before depositing dollars or existing crypto.

A first US trading account: start with state and funding

For a US citizen, check residence, actual location and the product, not just the passport. Coinbase's US account requires US residence; Binance.US combines citizenship or residence criteria with place restrictions. Bitfinex excludes U.S. Persons, including citizens and residents. For a New York resident, assess Gemini rather than Kraken or Binance.US. For an eligible resident elsewhere who wants disclosed ACH costs, compare Gemini with Binance.US. Coinbase is another account-based option, but its current numerical Advanced fees and complete state/asset conditions are not established here.

Alternatives, conditions and evidence

Individual US spot accounts only. A US-based operator is not permission to use every product from every state or country. For a US citizen living abroad, these US-account terms do not establish access to a different regional product. This chooses on documented eligibility and funding conditions, not tested ease of use or legal clearance.

Compare on these conditions

  • Citizenship, residence and actual location
  • State and chosen asset
  • Account and verification
  • Dollar funding versus wallet funding
  • Trading interface versus instant purchase

Gemini Exchange account; ActiveTrader fees are separate from transfer costs

Consider when: You need a US exchange listing that includes New York, or want documented provider ACH costs.

The Trust agreement names a New York limited purpose trust company; the separate Exchange availability list includes New York and Texas. The transfer schedule publishes free ACH deposits and withdrawals.

Conditions: Account and identity verification are required. Asset and payment-rail eligibility still need checking; free ACH is not a free trade.

us State Eligibility

The Exchange availability list includes US states, including New York and Texas. This does not establish eligibility for every asset, payment rail or Gemini product.

Evidence state: documented

account Requirement

A Gemini account and identity verification are required. US agreements request name, physical and mailing address, date of birth and other identification information. This is an account service, not a sign-up-free swap; approval was not tested.

funding Costs

Provider crypto deposits: no fee; the sender may still pay network costs. External crypto withdrawals use a dynamic network/gas fee shown before withdrawal. ACH deposits and withdrawals are free. Wire deposits are provider-free; USD wire withdrawals cost $25, plus possible bank charges. These are transfer costs, separate from ActiveTrader trading fees.

Binance.US Advanced Spot, not Binance global or Buy/Sell/Convert

Consider when: Your state supports the intended funding rail and you want to compare disclosed ACH and Advanced Spot charges.

BAM Trading is the service provider, separate from Binance Holdings Limited; its terms describe headquarters in Miami, Florida. The schedule publishes free provider ACH deposits and withdrawals, and separate maker/taker trading fees.

Conditions: Its citizenship or residency criteria still require an available location; the sanctions clause separately considers actual location. Exclude New York, Texas and Washington under the published state list. Kansas and Wisconsin are crypto-only without USD services. Account verification is required.

us State Eligibility

Unsupported locations include New York, Texas and Washington, among others in the linked state list. Kansas and Wisconsin are crypto-only, without USD services. These are Binance.US rules, not Binance global rules.

Evidence state: documented

account Requirement

Account and identity verification are required under the terms. Individual users must be at least 18. Meeting the age requirement does not guarantee approval.

Evidence state: documented

Published provider fees: crypto deposits and ACH deposits/withdrawals are free; wire deposits are $0 and wire withdrawals $25, plus any bank charges. Crypto withdrawal fees vary and are shown before the transaction. Funding-method and state availability remain separate conditions.

Advanced Spot: 0% maker, 0.02% starting taker on non-Tier-0 pairs. BNB/USD has a separate 0.01% taker rate. Volume and BNB-payment discounts have separate conditions; Buy/Sell/Convert use a spread.

operator Base

Binance.US terms identify BAM Trading as a separate service provider from Binance Holdings Limited and describe its headquarters in Miami, Florida. A headquarters address does not establish incorporation jurisdiction or all-state customer access.

BAM Trading is a wholly owned subsidiary of BAM Management U.S. Holdings Inc. and is headquartered in Miami, Florida.

Evidence state: published-description

citizenship And Residence

Binance.US requires residence where its services are available. Its Eligible Person clause includes US citizenship or specified US-resident categories, subject to the restricted-state/location exclusion; citizenship is not an exemption from that exclusion.

you are an Eligible Person if you are not a resident of a Restricted State or other location in which BAM is not authorized to do business and provided you satisfy one of the following criteria: a citizen of the United States of America

Evidence state: published-description

actual Location

Binance.US sanctions terms separately consider whether a person is located, organized or resident in a territory subject to territory-wide sanctions. Residence and actual location are not interchangeable eligibility checks.

Coinbase Advanced Trade Individual spot account and Advanced Trade

Consider when: You want an account-based spot product and will check the applicable account fee tier before trading.

The documents describe spot pairs, account verification and custodial account assets; Advanced maker/taker pricing is a separate product tariff.

Conditions: The US individual agreement requires US residence and says features depend on location and other criteria; a US passport alone does not meet that residence condition. No tested beginner-usability advantage is established. Sign in for current Advanced rates; US terms alone do not settle every state or supported asset.

us State Eligibility

US individual terms require age 18 or older and US residence. Features and supported assets vary by jurisdiction. A complete state-by-state spot matrix is not established; US futures references do not settle spot eligibility.

Evidence state: partial

account Requirement

An individual Coinbase account and verification are required. Setup includes email and phone verification and matching legal-name/photo-ID details. API keys do not replace these account requirements; approval was not tested.

Evidence state: documented

trading Fees

Advanced uses maker/taker fee tiers based on applicable trading volume or USDC balance. The public help page directs customers to sign in for current fee percentages and qualification criteria; numerical fee percentages are not established here. Retail Buy/Sell pricing is separate.

Replacing KuCoin for US spot trading

Kraken Pro spot

Market: XBTUSD · spot · online

Order minimum: 0.00005 BTC; $0.5. ordermin in Bitcoin and costmin in USD. The BTCUSD request returned the XBTUSD Bitcoin alias at the international venue; this is not a separate coin or a US entitlement.

Account: Account features depend on verified residency and verification level. Maine and New York residents are excluded. A complete onboarding checklist, account approval and access to the returned international pair for your residence are not established.

Funding: US residents cannot deposit fiat other than USD. Funding fees depend on the method and currency; Texas and New Hampshire residents cannot deposit or hold EUR or trade EUR pairs. Your deposit and withdrawal amount limits, holds and supported BTC transfer networks are not established.

The public market check covers only the named spot product at its observation time. Online or open status does not establish liquidity, an executable quote or account access. What the published maker fee costs on a $1,000 spot trade

Assume an eligible US account, a provider ACH deposit and a $1,000 ordinary non-stablecoin spot order that actually fills as a maker. The purchased crypto stays in the trading account; there is no withdrawal in this scenario.

Ordered by the published starting maker fee only. Amount × maker percentage ÷ 100 gives the trading charge.

On a narrow screen, scroll the table horizontally to compare all fields.

Kraken spot Tier 1[5][4]20.4%$4.00Amount not established hereNot established: funding charge is missing
Gemini ActiveTrader[2][3][1]30.6%$6.00$0.00$6.00

For the two products with a documented provider ACH deposit charge, the known deposit + maker trading subtotal is $0.00 at Binance.US and $6.00 at Gemini. Kraken’s $4.00 trading charge cannot produce that subtotal without its applicable funding cost. Each figure assumes the stated account, pair, tier and maker fill.

This is tariff arithmetic, not a trade or a net-payout quote. Execution price, spread, slippage, bank charges and later withdrawals are not included. An immediately filled limit order can be a taker order. Kraken’s missing funding figure is not zero; Coinbase Advanced numerical fees require sign-in and are not ranked. Stablecoin schedules and other interfaces are separate.

Swap fees: the published charge and what still changes the payout

A documented cost comparison, not a simultaneous quote ranking. FixedFloat, ChangeNOW and SimpleSwap documents checked October 7, 2026; Changelly fee and network clauses reread October 8, 2026. Our fee policy is not independent evidence of a cheapest payout.

Within FixedFloat's two published strategies, floating has the lower service percentage: 0.5% versus 1% fixed. Choose floating only if you accept a changing rate. Changelly publishes 0.25% for its standard floating exchange, but its output-based fee, extra network charge and residence restrictions prevent a universal cheapest-swap conclusion.

For the service-percentage field alone, Changelly's 0.25% standard floating figure is below FixedFloat's 0.5% floating figure. They do not establish equal gross rates or fee bases. For a US resident, Changelly and SimpleSwap are excluded; the remaining documents do not establish a lowest all-in payout cost.

Which swap calculator should you use?

For an exchange you intend to fund, use an amount-specific receive estimate for the exact assets and networks. For comparing costs, use two matching quotes and their known deductions. A market-price conversion answers a different question.

This comparison covers four tools. The two exchange-estimate sources were observed on 9 October 2026; the calculation assumptions were checked on 10 October 2026. It is a task-based selection, not a ranking of every calculator or a claim about the cheapest executable exchange.

Scroll the table horizontally on a small screen.

no1.exchange receive estimate
Evidence:
A floating receiving estimate for your selected amount, assets and networks. You already hold crypto and want to check a supported wallet-to-wallet swap before creating an order.A quote is not deposit instructions or a locked payout. An itemised fee breakdown and expiry were not supplied in the observed response.
ChangeNOW standard-flow estimate
Evidence:
The amount-specific BTC-to-ETH receive estimate in the public response used for the dated example below. You need another estimate for the same sending amount and asset-network pair.Only one pair and amount were observed. The response does not establish the cheapest service, your eligibility or the final executed receipt.
no1 two-quote cost calculator
Evidence:
Effective receive per unit spent, using two manually supplied quotes and known additional costs. You have matching quotes and want to include sender costs without deducting an included fee twice. It does not fetch prices or create an order. Missing fee treatment keeps the affected total unknown; illustrative inputs are labelled.
Terracoin-to-USDT reference calculator
Evidence:
TRC amount × TRC/USD ÷ USDT/USD, with source timestamps and a one-hour freshness limit. You need a market-reference value for Terracoin, not a promise to exchange it.Terracoin is absent from the checked swap catalogue. This result excludes exchange costs and cannot be funded as a no1 order.

Use a swap estimate to compare the quoted receive amount, the cost calculator to compare known all-in costs, and the reference calculator only for market-value arithmetic. There is no universal winner across those jobs. Recheck the same amount, assets, networks and rate mode before funding an order.

BTC to ETH: two observed receive estimates

Two read-only quote requests used 1 BTC on Bitcoin as the sending amount and ETH on Ethereum as the receiving asset. The no1 estimate came from its partner integration in a test environment; the ChangeNOW estimate came from its public standard-flow endpoint. ChangeNOW describes standard swaps as using aggregated CEX and DEX liquidity. The observations were recorded four seconds apart. No order was created and no funds were sent; production execution and final payout were not tested.

Historical snapshot: 9 October 2026, 20:05 UTC. These amounts are not current offers.

Estimate sourceSendEstimated receiveCaptured (UTC)
no1.exchange1 BTC
Bitcoin
32.8487122 ETH
Ethereum
ChangeNOW1 BTC
Bitcoin
32.8487122 ETH
Ethereum

Both responses returned 32.8487122 ETH. That is a tie in the displayed estimate for this one observation, not evidence of different liquidity sources, a lasting price advantage or an equal final payout. It does not compare wallet-connected DEX routes.

This is a historical example, not a live quote. ChangeNOW describes applicable provider fees as included in its standard-flow estimate; do not subtract them again. Fee inclusion in the no1 test response was not established. Sending-wallet costs and executed receipt were not measured, so these rows do not establish an all-in cost tie. Unknown charges are not zero. Request new estimates with the same token, networks, amount and rate mode before choosing.

A lower service percentage can still leave you with less

Assume the same input, receiving asset and floating mode, an identical gross output of 1,000 receiving-asset units and a sending-wallet cost worth 1 output unit. Every gross amount and network charge below is invented for arithmetic; none is a quote, exchange rate or supported-route test.

Synthetic illustration using published percentages. FixedFloat’s percentage is applied to gross output only as an explicit teaching assumption: its FAQ does not establish that deduction base. These units are not dollars, and no token price or dollar peg is assumed.

On a narrow screen, scroll the table horizontally to compare all fields.

Product or marketAssumed gross outputModelled service deductionAssumed payout-network deductionModelled amount receivedOutput value less sending-wallet cost
Changelly floating formula; network cost 2[1]1,0002.52995.5994.5
FixedFloat floating percentage; assumed output basis and network cost 2[2]1,00052993992
Changelly floating formula; network cost raised to 5[1]1,0002.55992.5991.5

Under the equal-output assumption, the 0.25% row with a 2-unit network charge receives 995.5 units, versus 993 at 0.5%. The service-fee saving is 2.5 units: an extra network cost above that cancels it. Raising the first row's network charge to 5 gives 992.5 units, below the second row. This is a break-even calculation, not a provider-price result.

Net received = amount before additional deductions - additional service charge - additional payout-network charge. Do not subtract a charge already included in a displayed receive amount. Sending-wallet cost reduces the value of the overall outcome, not the payout transfer. Converting it into receiving-asset units is another explicit assumption. Actual providers can offer different gross rates, inclusion rules and fee bases. ChangeNOW and SimpleSwap have no numeric standalone tariff here and are not assigned a zero deduction or a synthetic provider payout. Changelly’s stated fee is for its standard floating product, not an API partner. This numerical exercise does not override geography, exact token/network eligibility or deposit conditions.

Changelly vs ChangeNOW: compare the same amount received

A conditional document-based price comparison. Our calculator access and direct-estimate cost treatment were checked October 10, 2026; external document dates remain attached to their sources. The 1,000-unit gross amount, 2-unit network cost and 1-unit sender cost reuse the explicitly synthetic assumptions above; no ChangeNOW quote was acquired for this synthetic comparison.

For an assumed pre-fee output B and additional payout fee N: B × (1 - 0.25 / 100) - N. The API-partner fee can differ.

Use the displayed receive amount if its applicable costs are already included. Subtract only a confirmed additional deduction, not the included fee again.

An otherwise comparable net estimate above 995.5 units beats the synthetic Changelly row; at that amount it ties, and below it loses. The sending cost must also match.

For a ChangeNOW alternative with no separate percentage trading fee, consider SimpleSwap’s deposit swap, which aggregates CEX and DEX liquidity and uses an all-in rate. Its terms exclude US residents. Compare eligible offers by net output value after sending costs; the documents do not establish whether Changelly, ChangeNOW or SimpleSwap has the better current price.

For a free preliminary calculation as a ChangeNOW alternative, no1.exchange lets you obtain or refresh an estimate without registration, a customer identity check, a paid subscription or calculator payment. This is our own service, not an independent recommendation. Free calculator access does not make the exchange fee or total cost zero. Our direct standard-floating estimate includes provider service and payout-network costs without itemizing them; sending-wallet charges are separate, and reverse calculations are outside that inclusion rule. The cited third-party documents do not establish subscription-free calculator access; no registration is a separate condition.

Compare an aggregated wallet route with a deposit-based swap without treating either as free.

A swap aggregator: connect a wallet or send a deposit?

Choose 1inch for a wallet-connected DEX route; ChangeNOW standard and SimpleSwap aggregate liquidity through deposit-based wallet-to-wallet swaps. ChangeNOW includes applicable fees in its estimate; SimpleSwap uses an all-in rate without an extra percentage trading fee. None establishes a free swap or the greatest net payout. Exclude SimpleSwap for a US resident.

Alternatives, conditions and evidence

Three published workflows and their cost disclosures. No matched wallet-connected DEX quotes, wallet transactions or settlement tests were recorded. The historical deposit-swap estimate in the cost comparison is separate; exact DEX route costs and 1inch state-specific access are unknown.

  • Costs within the estimate versus an undisclosed tariff

1inch Wallet-connected DEX aggregator

Consider when: You want to compare a route through a connected wallet rather than send funds to a deposit order.

The interface uses Connect wallet; the provider describes DEX aggregation and intent-based cross-chain swaps.

Conditions: A numerical tariff, exact-token route and state-specific frontend eligibility are not established by the compared facts. The aggregation description is not proof of fee-free or uninterrupted settlement.

How the swap works

Wallet-to-wallet swaps with liquidity aggregated from multiple CEX and DEX providers.

[1]

Automated deposit-based exchange; output is sent to the receiving address after the required confirmations.

[1]

Swap liquidity comes from CEX and DEX providers; some pairs use partners. Standard swaps and the optional Pro account are different products.

[1]

Deposit-based swaps processed through third-party exchanges. The terms say there is no ongoing deposit balance, but funds can be held during checks; this is not an atomic, wallet-connected swap.

[1][2]

Deposit-based crypto-to-crypto orders. Create an order, then send the instructed asset and network to its deposit address; payout goes to your chosen destination. Funds can be under the exchange processor’s control during processing.

[1][2]
Rate and deposit conditions

Fixed: 20-minute lock, including at least one blockchain confirmation. A late deposit can fail or require a refund or a new rate. Floating: amount is calculated during processing.

[1]

Fixed: 10-minute freeze, exact deposit amount required. A market move above 1.2% before the deposit appears on-chain can trigger a refund or continuation at market rate. Floating: rate follows confirmations.

[1]

Classic: the expected amount may move while the deposit confirms. The FAQ also describes a fixed-rate option; inspect the selected quote rather than applying classic-rate behavior to every order.

[1]

Floating: the rate may change; deposit addresses expire after 3 hours. Fixed: 15-minute deposit window, or 20 minutes for the listed coins. Use the one-time address and exact amount, allowing for sending fees. Late, wrong or reused deposits may fail and require manual handling.

[1]

Standard floating estimates: the receiving amount can move before execution. A created order's payment window is not quote expiry. No fixed-rate offer or verified quote-expiry duration is supplied with the estimate.

[1][2]
Exchange and network costs

An all-in-one crypto-swap rate with no separate percentage trading fee added on top. The cost varies by pair, liquidity, volatility, network and routing; this is not a zero-fee claim.

[1]

Fixed: 1% plus network fee. Floating: 0.5% plus network fee. These published percentages do not by themselves identify the largest payout.

[1]

The estimate includes applicable fees. Costs vary by currency and amount and may include deposit, liquidity-provider transfer, trading and payout network fees.

[1]

Published floating fee: 0.25% of the output amount; API partners have different fees. Network fees are additional and may differ from the estimate. A separate numerical fixed-rate fee is not established here. Compare the payout, not the percentage alone.

[1]

For the direct standard-floating estimate, provider service and payout-network costs are included in the estimated receiving amount. Do not subtract them again. An itemised fee breakdown and verified maximum are not supplied. Sending-wallet charges can be separate; included costs do not establish a zero-fee exchange. Reverse calculations are not covered by this inclusion rule.

[1][2]
Account and identity checks

No sign-up for most crypto-to-crypto swaps. That statement does not establish an unconditional exemption from identity checks.

[1]

This FAQ does not establish all registration or identity-check conditions. Do not infer a no-KYC guarantee from the deposit flow.

[1]

Standard swaps do not require an account. Risk-based or partner KYC can still apply; the FAQ describes requesting a scan of a valid ID document and information on the funds’ origin. Optional ChangeNOW Pro provides an account-based custody experience.

[1]

Web terms require an account and verified email. The FAQ allows swaps without login specifically in the mobile app. Risk-based identity and source-of-funds checks can hold or prevent completion; the mobile exception is not a web or API rule.

[1][2][3]

No registration, login or customer identity check under our service policy; our exchange flow does not ask for a Social Security number (SSN). Private-order access uses a browser cookie or the original destination address; order and transaction data are retained. The destination and any supplied memo or tag are shared with the exchange processor. These technical checks are not KYC, and no account does not mean an anonymous transfer.

[1][2][3]
Residence conditions

The restricted-locations clause includes the United States and its territories. A loading website does not override those terms.

[1]

US-resident eligibility is not established by this FAQ. Check the current service terms before use.

[1]

US-resident eligibility is not established by this FAQ. Partner conditions also need to be checked for the selected pair.

[1]

Restricted locations include the United States and all its territories, the UK and other jurisdictions. The clause also covers location, control and nationality, not residence alone. These are Changelly conditions, not no1.exchange rules.

[1]

No country or US-state exclusions imposed by no1.exchange under our service policy. Asset-network availability still depends on the selected pair. This is an access policy, not a claim of licensing or permission for every user.

[1]

SimpleSwap vs FixedFloat

For an eligible resident needing a longer fixed-rate confirmation window, compare SimpleSwap’s 20 minutes with FixedFloat’s 10. FixedFloat publishes 1% fixed or 0.5% floating, plus network costs. SimpleSwap excludes US residents under its terms. Neither the deadline nor the percentage alone establishes the cheaper payout.[1][2][3]

SimpleSwap vs ChangeNOW

When deposit timing is uncertain, compare the floating-rate outcome with the fixed-rate deadline. If an account-based custody product is required, review ChangeNOW Pro separately; its features do not belong to a standard wallet-to-wallet swap.[1][2]

Changelly vs ChangeNOW

For a standard swap without an account, ChangeNOW’s FAQ describes a registration-free flow; Changelly’s web terms require an account and verified email. Both publish conditional checks, so neither description guarantees no KYC. Changelly gives a 0.25% floating exchange fee, separate from network costs and different API-partner fees; ChangeNOW describes fees within the estimate. Those structures do not identify a cheaper payout. A US resident should exclude Changelly under its cited terms; the ChangeNOW FAQ alone does not establish US eligibility.[1][2][3][4]

An alternative without a customer identity check

For a swap without registration or a customer identity check, consider no1.exchange under our service policy; it uses floating estimates and retains order data. Our exchange flow does not request an SSN. Coinbase’s individual US account setup instead calls for the last four digits of the Social Security number; that account is not the same product as a one-off wallet swap. SSN requirements at the other services are not established here. ChangeNOW’s standard no-account flow can still involve risk-based or partner KYC; its optional Pro account is a separate product. This is a policy-based choice, not a cheapest-payout ranking or an independent overall winner.[1][2][3][4][5]

Wallet-to-wallet still has a processing interval

With a deposit-based swap, funds leave your sending wallet before the payout reaches your destination. The receiving address describes the endpoint, not uninterrupted self-custody or an atomic settlement. Read the deposit, late-payment and refund conditions for that interval; a private order link is not control of the deposit wallet.[1][2][3]

Want to trade directly from your wallet?

Assess PancakeSwap’s token-swap product if avoiding an exchange-held balance is your criterion: its Product Overview describes direct wallet trading and says it does not hold your funds when you trade. no1.exchange and FixedFloat instead require a deposit before payout; a receiving wallet address alone does not give you control over funds during that interval. Check the exact token, network and interface conditions. This provider-described custody difference is not a safest-exchange ranking, an atomic-settlement guarantee or proof of US eligibility.[1][2][3]

Compare the data you disclose

To avoid submitting customer identity documents in a wallet-to-wallet swap, consider no1.exchange under our service policy. ChangeNOW’s FAQ describes possible risk checks requesting an ID scan and information about the funds’ origin. Our flow still shares the destination and any supplied memo or tag with the exchange processor and retains the order record; addresses and transaction IDs can remain public on-chain. If local data storage is your priority and a desktop Bitcoin P2P trade fits, assess Bisq: it states no identity verification and local on-disk data rather than a central server. That is a different workflow, not our automatic swap. These documented differences do not establish anonymous transfers or a universal privacy winner; Bisq’s US eligibility is not established here.[1][2][3][4]

Custody, controls and support

Use a specific condition to narrow a choice. These document-based comparisons are not security, reputation, legal or performance certifications.

Choose by the risk you need to limit

Before funding an exchange, check who provides the service, how funds are held and where a problem can be investigated. Use those requirements to narrow the choice, rather than choosing on a safety or trust label.

Six conditional choices. Account-control ratings for Kraken, Gemini and Coinbase use the same three checks: passkey or hardware-key sign-in, crypto withdrawal-address allowlisting, and a published delay or override for adding an address. Documented, partial and not established describe source coverage only; unknown does not mean a control is absent. Account controls, insurance documents and regulator records checked October 8, 2026; other provider documents checked October 7, 2026. Historical enforcement dates are listed separately. These are document-based ratings, not an overall safety score. Customer reputation, uptime, withdrawals and insurance claims were not tested.

An identifiable operator with a documented oversight history

Conditional choices
For this condition, shortlist Coinbase, Inc. or Gemini Trust Company, LLC. Pause a KCEX choice until the contracting company is identified, and a Toobit choice until the applicable agreement is clear. Binance.US publishes obligations, but no regulator record for it was checked here.
Documented basis
NYDFS lists Coinbase, Inc. with virtual-currency and money-transmitter licenses and Gemini Trust with a limited-purpose trust charter. Its records also report a $50 million Coinbase compliance penalty in 2023 and a $37 million Gemini fine concerning Earn failures in 2024. KCEX lacks a full contracting-company name in the examined documents; Toobit has conflicting general agreements.
Limits of this choice
The same test is an identifiable counterparty plus a regulator record, not popularity. Neither Coinbase nor Gemini wins on overall reputation from these records. Coinbase Custody is a separate company; Gemini Earn lending is not spot custody. These historical cases are not comparable loss rates or proof of current remediation, solvency or fund release.
  • NYDFS: regulated virtual-currency entitiesChecked . New York regulator list: Coinbase, Inc. and Gemini Trust Company, LLC; Coinbase Custody is a separate entity. Listing does not certify reputation, every product or current outcomes.
  • NYDFS: Coinbase compliance settlement, January 4, 2023Checked . Historical Coinbase, Inc. compliance findings, $50 million penalty and a separate $50 million compliance-investment commitment. Not an assessment of current solvency or completed remediation.
  • NYDFS: Gemini Earn settlement, February 28, 2024Checked . Historical Gemini Earn findings and $37 million fine. Earn lending and the ordinary spot balance are different products; commitments are not a measurement of present customer repayment or reliability.
  • Coinbase US Individual User AgreementChecked . Individual Coinbase Services account, custody, US and funding terms; not Business terms or blanket asset/state eligibility.
  • Gemini Trust US User AgreementChecked . Ordinary exchange account, KYC and omnibus custody; the optional segregated Custody Account has separate terms.
  • Binance.US terms of useChecked . BAM account, identity-verification and account-asset custody terms; not Binance global services.
  • KCEX: About KCEXChecked . Provider description of its centralized platform; registration and licence statements were not checked against a registry.
  • KCEX User AgreementChecked . KCEX website, app and related services; published account, identity, residence and risk-control conditions, not a completed onboarding test.

  • Toobit Terms of Service (second accessible agreement)Checked . Second general agreement names Hopeful Technology Co. Ltd. and has different territorial and withdrawal clauses. No assertion that it supersedes the footer-linked terms.

A documented way to investigate a problem

Conditional choices
For a swap requiring a published live-chat schedule, assess FixedFloat rather than infer ChangeNOW ticket hours. For an account dispute, compare Coinbase or Kraken's own complaint route instead.
Documented basis
FixedFloat publishes 24/7 chat and separates general from suspended-order contacts. ChangeNOW documents a request-ticket route without established hours. Coinbase and Kraken expose account complaint destinations.
Limits of this choice
Choose by case and product, after confirming eligibility. Published channels do not establish faster replies, better resolution or reliable fund release; the Coinbase and Kraken complaint procedures are not detailed enough to choose between them.
  • Kraken Support CenterChecked . Account-help navigation and Complaints destination; operating hours and the full complaint procedure are not confirmed.
  • Coinbase contact helpChecked . Account help, sign-in and complaint destination. No operating hours or absence of other channels is inferred from these links.
  • ChangeNOW Help CenterChecked . Help Center and Submit a request route; no ticket was submitted or response tested.
  • FixedFloat support contactsChecked . Published channels, hours and order-specific contact routing; reply estimates are not service-level guarantees.
  • FixedFloat support FAQChecked . Published Live Chat 24/7 statement; staffing and actual replies were not independently measured.

No provider-held trading balance

Conditional choices
Assess a wallet-connected route such as 1inch before a custodial trading account if that is your requirement. A FixedFloat deposit swap also needs funds to leave the sending wallet before payout.
Documented basis
Coinbase controls account private keys; Gemini holds account assets in custodial omnibus wallets. FixedFloat describes deposit-based processing. The 1inch interface uses a connected wallet and describes DEX aggregation and cross-chain intents.
Limits of this choice
This selects a model to investigate, not the safest platform. Wallet connection alone does not prove uninterrupted custody or atomic settlement. Confirm the exact token, network, approvals and interface eligibility; security and withdrawal outcomes remain unverified.
  • FixedFloat FAQChecked . Published fixed/floating fees, deposit timing and rate-change conditions.
  • 1inch official sourceChecked . Published service information

Coverage for theft from the provider, not a stolen login

Conditional choices
Compare Coinbase and Gemini for documented platform-theft coverage. Choose neither on insurance alone if your concern is unauthorized access to your personal account: both disclose exclusions.
Documented basis
Coinbase crime cover protects a portion of stored digital assets and excludes compromised customer credentials. Gemini Trust terms say digital assets are not 100% insured; covered theft includes a system breach, a Gemini-initiated fraudulent transfer or employee theft, but excludes unauthorized account access.
Limits of this choice
Neither documents guaranteed coverage of your full balance. Insurance limits, allocation and claim recovery were not independently confirmed. Coinbase warns total losses can exceed recoveries. Crypto is not FDIC-insured; login protection and custody exposure must be compared separately.
  • Coinbase: cryptocurrency and cash insurance conditionsChecked . Coinbase, Inc. US crypto crime cover and conditional cash pass-through cover. No entire-account coverage, insurer confirmation, claim or bank allocation was verified; May 2025 dates the bank list, not the whole policy.
  • Gemini Trust agreement: digital-asset and fiat coverageChecked . Applicable Gemini Trust ordinary account terms: partial crypto theft cover and conditional USD-bank pass-through insurance. No insurer, account allocation or claim outcome was independently checked.
  • FDIC: deposit insurance and crypto-company failureChecked . Federal regulator explanation: insured-bank deposit protection is not protection against non-bank failure or loss of crypto assets. Not a finding about any individual exchange account.

USD protection if a deposit bank fails

Conditional choices
For this condition, assess an eligible Coinbase US cash balance or Gemini Fiat Account only after confirming that the money is cash at an insured bank. Do not choose either for protection against the exchange itself failing.
Documented basis
Both documents describe conditional pass-through cover for eligible USD bank deposits. They also permit USD holdings in Treasuries or money-market investments, so the entire displayed balance cannot be assumed to be an insured bank deposit. Gemini says other deposits held at the same bank count toward the limit.
Limits of this choice
Neither wins without the actual bank allocation and eligibility. Recordkeeping and regulatory conditions apply; the statutory limit is not multiplied by opening exchange accounts. FDIC protection does not cover a non-bank exchange failure, crypto loss or investment loss. No customer cash allocation was inspected.

Protect a spot account from takeover and withdrawal fraud

Conditional choices
For a documented delay before a compromised account can add a payout address, assess Kraken with passkey sign-in and Global Settings Lock enabled. In New York or Maine, assess Gemini's hardware keys and address allowlist instead; Kraken excludes both states.
Documented basis
Kraken: all three checks are documented in its passkey and Global Settings Lock articles; new crypto withdrawal addresses are blocked while its settings lock is on, and unlocking without a Master Key takes 24 hours to 30 days, as configured. Gemini: partially documented; its security page describes hardware-key sign-in and withdrawal-address allowlisting, but delay/override conditions are unknown. Coinbase: not established by the examined US Individual User Agreement, which requires account registration and identity verification but does not document these sign-in, allowlisting or delay/override controls.
Limits of this choice
A pre-existing Kraken Master Key can remove the lock immediately; it is not a freeze of every withdrawal. Confirm account, asset and device eligibility. These controls are not insurance; custodial and platform risks remain. No protection or withdrawal was tested.

Provider disclosures and named regulator records narrow a choice on the stated condition only. No provider is selected as safest, most reputable or most reliable. Customer reputation, current uptime, security effectiveness, withdrawals and insurance recoveries were not independently verified; a regulator entry is not an endorsement.

General orders use support@fixedfloat.com; suspended orders use compliance@fixedfloat.com. Separate destinations are routing, not proof of escalation quality or release of funds. Published Telegram/X reply estimates are not an SLA.

Need a published live-chat schedule?

Of these two instant-swap services, FixedFloat documents round-the-clock live chat; ChangeNOW documents a request-ticket route without established hours in the saved sources. That makes FixedFloat the documented-hours choice here, not a proven faster or better support team. Confirm that the swap product and residence rules fit before choosing.[1][2][3][4]

Need help with a trading account?

Use the account provider’s own help and complaint route. Kraken and Coinbase both expose complaint destinations, but the collected pages do not establish enough detail to rank their escalation procedures. Do not send an account dispute to an unrelated instant-swap service.[1][2]

KCEX, Toobit and Cryptogold

Account terms, operator disclosures and the limits of a comparison. These records describe other providers, not the conditions of no1.exchange.

Cryptogold.exchange: token-purchase terms and unresolved operator

Operator and agreement

The Terms of Service identify the website as CryptoGold.Exchange but leave its operator as "[Insert Company Name]". They do not establish a named legal contracting company, jurisdiction or serviced contact. This review concerns cryptogold.exchange, not every business called Cryptogold.[9]

Account and transaction conditions

The Terms of Service for Token Purchases show an effective date of November 1, 2025. They describe buying designated tokens directly from the provider and explicitly exclude secondary trading, swapping and staking. That is a different product from a spot trading account or wallet-to-wallet swap.[9]

Those terms say an account may be required and KYC is not yet implemented, while reserving the right to require verification retroactively. The Privacy Policy likewise says identity documents are not currently collected. Neither statement promises permanent access without verification.[9][10]

Restrictions and withdrawal controls

The token-purchase terms state that sales are final and non-refundable once processed. They also say external-wallet withdrawals are not yet implemented and purchased tokens are credited to an internal account balance. The Privacy Policy describes internal database records instead of immediate blockchain delivery. These are document statements, not a tested withdrawal result.[9][10]

The homepage advertises crypto and gold trading and claims gold-reserve backing. That conflicts with the token-purchase-only description in the terms. The reviewed documents do not establish a numerical fee schedule, purchase limits, residence eligibility or independent proof of gold reserves; those cannot be inferred from the marketing.[11][9]

Comparison with spot accounts

For a purchase intended to reach your own wallet, the published internal-credit and unavailable-withdrawal terms do not describe the same result as an instant wallet-to-wallet swap. The unnamed operator and conflicting product descriptions prevent an established spot-exchange comparison. The separate FCA warning names cryptogolds.info and cryptosgold.info, not cryptogold.exchange; a relationship between them is not established.[9][10][11][8]

Not established

  • Full legal contracting-company name, jurisdiction and serviced contact
  • Which terms describe the currently offered product
  • Residence eligibility, numerical fees and purchase limits
  • Live withdrawal capability and any withdrawal charge
  • Independent proof of gold reserves

KCEX: spot fees and account restrictions

Operator and agreement

KCEX describes itself as a centralized platform registered in Seychelles. The reviewed About, User Agreement and Privacy Policy documents do not establish a full legal contracting-company name. The description is a provider statement, not registry verification.[1][2][3]

Account and transaction conditions

The User Agreement describes registration, account information and identity-document checks; the Privacy Policy says KCEX must identify and verify customers. This is not an unconditional no-KYC service.[2][3]

The published execution-fee table lists spot maker and taker fees at 0%. Pair-specific promotional rates can differ. It separately lists futures at 0% maker and 0.01% taker; those are not spot fees or total costs.[4]

Restrictions and withdrawal controls

The User Agreement includes the United States and Canada in its non-exhaustive list of countries from which transactions or registrations have been rejected. The About page’s licence language does not override that restriction or establish US account eligibility.[2][1]

KCEX reserves the right to change daily trading and withdrawal limits and to close accounts or liquidate positions when location statements are concealed or false.[2]

Funding and withdrawal costs

Current numerical deposit and withdrawal charges are not established. A 0% spot execution fee does not mean funding or withdrawing is free.[4][2]

Comparison with spot accounts

Compare KCEX spot with Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini and Binance.US using the same fee, account, location, custody and funding fields. Wallet-to-wallet swaps and futures contracts are different products. KCEX publishes 0% maker and taker; Binance.US publishes 0% maker and a starting 0.02% taker rate for non-Tier-0 Advanced Spot pairs. KCEX’s US restriction means this fee difference does not make it an eligible US alternative. Neither figure proves the lowest completed-trade cost.[4][2][15][16]

Not established

Toobit: operator, custody and conflicting terms

Operator and agreement

Both accessible general agreements name Hopeful Technology Co. Ltd. The footer-linked Terms of Use assign EU/EEA residents to Elyndret Spółka Z Ograniczoną Odpowiedzialnością in Poland and other residents to Hopeful Technology Co. Ltd. in the Cayman Islands. The second agreement does not make that distinction; the applicable version for an individual account is unresolved.[5][6]

Account and transaction conditions

The footer-linked terms require an account, age 18 or older and provider approval. Assets are sent to an omnibus address and recorded on the platform ledger; the terms say assets held for customers are not government-insured.[5]

The footer-linked terms specify a 24-hour withdrawal hold for newly registered accounts. Withdrawal timing can also be delayed by applicable law or the User Identification Policy; this is a published condition, not a measured payout time.[5]

Both agreements place current transaction fees behind account login. The second agreement additionally describes percentage withdrawal fees in limited risk-control scenarios, explicitly not standard withdrawal fees. The VIP fee page could not be read completely and provided no usable rate table.[5][6][7]

Restrictions and withdrawal controls

The two general agreements contain different territorial exclusion lists and retain discretion to restrict more jurisdictions. Neither establishes a US-state spot eligibility matrix. Absence of the United States from a reviewed list is not proof of US availability.[5][6]

The footer-linked Terms of Use show an effective date of July 1, 2024; the second Terms of Service show August 1, 2025. Their later publication dates in 2026 and continued accessibility do not establish which agreement supersedes the other.[5][6]

Funding and withdrawal costs

The footer-linked terms state no provider account-funding fee but allow third-party costs and charge for outbound transfers. The second agreement adds limited risk-control withdrawal charges. Standard numerical withdrawal fees and which version applies remain unresolved.[5][6]

Comparison with spot accounts

Compare Toobit with Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini and Binance.US using the same fee, account, location, custody and funding fields. Its documented omnibus custody resembles the account model described by Gemini, not a self-custody swap. Unlike Gemini’s cited ActiveTrader schedule, the reviewed Toobit documents do not provide a comparable numerical spot tier. US eligibility and agreement precedence remain unresolved; no cheapest or safest conclusion follows.[5][6][13][14][12]

An altcoin you already hold: wallet route or trading account?

For a wallet-connected token swap, assess Sushi or 1inch: Sushi exposes price-impact and fee fields, while 1inch describes aggregation and cross-chain intents. Distinguish an exchange app, a mobile swap exception and device-specific wallet trading.

On a phone: select the product, not just the brand

For a phone-based account product, investigate Crypto.com App under its own geography rules, not the separate Exchange. For a no-login mobile swap, Changelly documents an app-only exception, but its US restrictions still apply. If you already use Trezor Safe 7, Suite documents iOS trading for that device. These facts do not identify the easiest or best mobile exchange.

ETH, SOL, LINK and Dogecoin: two USD spot-market lists

The public Gemini and Kraken APIs listed these four USD spot markets when checked. These are trading-account products, not deposit-based instant swaps or a count of every altcoin the providers support.

Public market-list responses received October 7, 2026, at 22:31 UTC. A listed symbol does not confirm account eligibility, liquidity or withdrawal networks.

On a narrow screen, scroll the table horizontally to compare all fields.

LINK / USD[1][2]linkusdLINKUSD · online0.55 LINK$0.50
Dogecoin / USD[1][2]dogeusdXDGUSD · online, returned for DOGEUSD50 XDG$0.50

All four requested USD markets appeared in both responses. Kraken reports two minimum-order checks: the quantity of the base asset and the USD order value. Its Dogecoin row uses XDG even though the request used DOGEUSD; match the asset and market before entering an order.

Kraken’s base-quantity and USD cost minimum are different checks, and are not deposit or withdrawal limits. Gemini minima were not established by its symbols endpoint. Neither response specifies your supported deposit/payout networks or token contract. Check those in the account funding screen before transferring; do not infer a native or bridged token from a trading ticker.

ETH/USD: two observed spot asking prices

Kraken and Gemini returned these ETH/USD asking prices on 9 October 2026. Both figures use USD per ETH and the same top-of-book ask basis, rather than a last-trade price or a trading-fee percentage.

Historical public API responses received about 2.5 seconds apart. Times below are when each response arrived, not a simultaneous market event or a current offer.

On a narrow screen, scroll the table horizontally to compare all fields.

Gemini spot · ETH/USD[2]$2,487.560002026-10-09 · 23:23:20.776

The recorded Kraken ask was $0.09 per ETH below Gemini’s ask. This compares one indicative price field at the two observation times; it does not identify the cheapest exchange for a particular trade or wallet payout.

The ask is not an amount-specific execution quote. Order-book depth, maker/taker fees, funding, withdrawal charges and account eligibility are outside this snapshot. Binance Global alternatives for spot trading

For a US resident replacing Binance Global's spot-account function, assess Gemini in New York or when its published ACH transfer terms matter. Outside Maine and New York, consider Kraken if its lower published starting spot maker and taker rates than Gemini ActiveTrader matter. This does not establish a cheaper trade than Binance Global or a replacement for every Binance product.

Binance Global spot orders and exchange-account balances; Gemini and Kraken US spot-account conditions. Binance.US is a separate product. For residence outside the US, these candidate facts do not establish eligibility. Futures, margin, P2P, Convert, Web3 wallets and instant swaps are outside this replacement.

Orders require the account permissions accepted by the selected symbol. Technical trading permission is separate from eligibility by residence, citizenship or actual location; current Binance Global location restrictions are not verified. Confirm them before opening or funding an account.[source]

Execution fees

The Spot commission FAQ describes account- and symbol-specific standard, tax and special commissions, with conditional discounts. Its example prices and rates are explicitly fictional. No current numerical Binance Global tariff or total trade-and-withdrawal cost is established.[source][source]

Gemini: Ordinary spot account using ActiveTrader or the exchange API

You live in New York, or published provider ACH deposit and withdrawal costs are a priority. A verified trading account and provider-held spot balance. Gemini's Exchange list includes New York; its transfer schedule documents free provider ACH deposits and withdrawals.

Confirm the exact asset, network and funding method. Identity verification is required. ActiveTrader execution fees and external crypto withdrawal charges still apply; the optional segregated Custody Account is a different product.

Account, custody, location and fee terms for Gemini

Kraken: Ordinary exchange spot account, separate from Instant Buy and futures

You are an eligible US resident outside Maine and New York and prioritize the lower published starting maker/taker spot rates of these two candidates. An exchange-account spot balance and trading product. Kraken's published entry-tier maker and taker rates are lower than Gemini ActiveTrader's published starting rates; this compares execution fees only.

US fiat deposits are limited to USD. Texas and New Hampshire restrict EUR holdings and trading. Confirm verification, asset/network and current funding charges; a full onboarding checklist and numerical funding quote are not established.

Account, custody, location and fee terms for Kraken

Confirm eligibility for both products, then match the asset and deposit network at the destination. Check that the source account can withdraw on that network and compare the withdrawal charge with the destination's trading and transfer costs before sending funds.

  • Current Binance Global onboarding, geographic eligibility and legal custody terms could not be verified. The technical API baseline does not settle them.
  • The US candidate conditions do not establish a suitable replacement for every global user, asset, network, order type or bank rail.
  • No current Binance Global numerical fee, matched all-in cost, account approval, liquidity, transfer or migration was tested.

Coinbase alternatives for a spot trading account

For an alternative to Coinbase Advanced, consider Kraken spot if you meet its residence and asset conditions, or Gemini ActiveTrader if you need a published US exchange availability list that includes New York. Compare each product's applicable fee tier and the asset you trade before transferring a balance. Both require an account; neither replaces a self-custody wallet.

The baseline is Coinbase Advanced spot trading, not Coinbase Wallet, retail Buy/Sell, staking or derivatives. Compare account-based spot products; a deposit swap does not replace their order books.

Product-specific conditions; source check and update dates remain separate below.
ProductCrypto product and workflowPrice and cost boundaryAccount and access conditions
Coinbase Advanced
Account-based spot trading
Trade spot pairs through an individual Coinbase account. This is the Advanced trading product; the retail Buy/Sell interface and Coinbase Wallet are different replacement tasks.[1][3]Advanced uses maker/taker tiers. Its published help page directs account holders to sign in for current rates and qualification criteria, so a numerical Coinbase tariff and a cheaper alternative are not established here.[2]An account and identity verification are required. US individual terms require age 18 or older and US residence; product and asset access vary by jurisdiction.[3][4][1]
Kraken
Account-based spot trading
The alternative task is spot trading through an exchange account. Instant Buy, futures and Kraken Financial are separate products, not equivalent replacements in this comparison.[10][9]Published cross-platform spot Tier 1: 0.40% maker, 0.80% taker. Other tiers and products differ; this is not the Instant Buy or futures fee schedule. Current funding and withdrawal charges still need a separate check; Coinbase's applicable numerical tier is not established, so this is not a cheaper-than-Coinbase finding.[10]Maine and New York residents are excluded. Texas and New Hampshire residents cannot deposit/hold EUR or trade EUR pairs. US residents cannot deposit fiat other than USD; asset and product restrictions also apply.[9]
Gemini ActiveTrader
Account-based spot trading
ActiveTrader/exchange API spot trading is the selected replacement. It is an account product, not a sign-up-free deposit swap or a self-custody wallet.[6][7][8]ActiveTrader/exchange API spot base tier: 0.600% maker, 1.200% taker at volume and asset balance starting at $0. Tiers use trailing 30-day volume or USD asset balance. Stablecoin pairs have separate rates. Transfer costs are separate. The published tariff alone does not establish a lower total cost than your Coinbase account.[6]The Exchange availability list includes US states, including New York and Texas. This does not establish eligibility for every asset, payment rail or Gemini product. A Gemini account and identity verification are required.[5][7][8]

When to consider Kraken

You need another spot trading account and your residence, funding currency and chosen asset meet Kraken's conditions.

Unlike a swap without an account, this retains an account-based trading workflow. New York and Maine residents cannot use the documented Kraken selection.

When to consider Gemini ActiveTrader

You need a spot exchange alternative with New York in the published Exchange availability list, subject to the actual account, asset and product conditions.

Gemini's published Exchange availability includes New York; Kraken's cited conditions exclude it. This difference concerns residence, not price or execution quality.

  • No account, trade or withdrawal was tested. Exact asset coverage, liquidity and final funding costs need a product-specific check; no identical feature set is claimed.
  • The cited documents retain their original October 7 or October 8, 2026 check dates. This comparison does not provide a current executable quote or an overall ranking.

Bitpanda alternatives for buying or converting crypto

For a supported account that needs buying, selling and converting crypto, assess PayPal Crypto as a Bitpanda alternative. For a card, digital-wallet or bank purchase, assess MoonPay instead, but confirm the requested asset and payment method. Bitpanda excludes US citizens and people located in the US; neither candidate is cleared for your account or state by this comparison.

Bitpanda retail crypto purchase, sale and on-platform Swap. Broker purchase/convert is not an order-book product. Fusion, stocks, ETFs, metals and margin are outside this comparison.

Product-specific conditions; source check and update dates remain separate below.
ProductCrypto product and workflowPrice and cost boundaryAccount and access conditions
Bitpanda
Retail crypto buy/sell and Bitpanda Swap
Buy and sell crypto through offered prices; Swap converts supported crypto to another supported asset on Bitpanda. This retail flow is not treated as an order book or a wallet-to-wallet swap.[1][2]Bitpanda quotes a 0.99% premium for Bitcoin buying and selling, included in the offered price. That is not a tariff for every asset or Swap. Use the final trade summary, not the chart price; deposit, withdrawal and payment-provider costs are not quantified here.[2]Age 18+, an accepted identity document and a supported country of residence are required. US citizens and people located in the United States may not become users. The homepage describes account registration, identity verification and funding before trading; no approval was tested.[3][1]
PayPal Crypto
Crypto buy/sell/convert
PayPal describes buying, selling and converting crypto. Custody, trading and transfers are performed through a licensed service provider such as Paxos; this is not evidence of an equivalent order book.[4]PayPal discloses the transaction exchange rate and fees; its exchange rate includes a spread on purchases and sales. No matched amount, numerical tariff or all-in cost was sampled, so no cheaper-than-Bitpanda conclusion follows.[4]For an individual, PayPal's Crypto Terms require residence in the United States or one of its territories and age 18 or the age of majority in the state or territory of residence to open and use a Crypto Account. Account approval, state-specific function and asset access, funding methods and account permissions are not established here.[5]
MoonPay
Fiat crypto purchase and separate sale payout
MoonPay lists card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank-transfer and wire purchases, and a separate bank-account or Visa-card sale payout. On-platform crypto-to-crypto conversion is not established by these facts.[6]Comparable purchase fees, spread, funding charges and sale-payout costs are not established. Compare the final amount received for the same asset, amount and payment method; missing fees are not zero.Purchase and payout countries, state access, account/identity requirements and transaction limits are not established by the reused description. Check the selected function before use.

When to consider PayPal Crypto

You need a supported crypto purchase or conversion inside PayPal, rather than Bitpanda Fusion or a securities product.

The overlapping function is buy/sell/convert. Matching assets, payment rails, external withdrawals and quote expiry have not been established.

When to consider MoonPay

Your task is a crypto purchase using a card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfer or wire, subject to the selected method being supported.

The published purchase and bank/Visa sale flows do not establish an equivalent on-platform Bitpanda Swap or the same account balances.

  • This replaces only a stated crypto-purchase or conversion task, not Bitpanda's entire multi-asset offering. No identical asset coverage, custody protection or feature set is claimed.
  • PayPal and MoonPay descriptions were checked October 7, 2026, not refreshed with the October 8 Bitpanda documents. No account, purchase, conversion, payout or cheapest-provider result was tested.

A Bybit alternative for eligible non-US perpetual traders

For a non-US trader eligible for Kraken Derivatives who needs perpetual trading, assess Kraken Pro Futures as a Bybit alternative after checking the exact contract and collateral. Its quoted entry maker fee is 0.02% versus Bybit's 0.02%; the taker fee is 0.05% versus 0.055%. The smaller taker tariff alone does not establish a cheaper position or equivalent contracts. US readers cannot use this comparison as permission to use Bybit or the quoted non-US Kraken product.

Selected baseline: Bybit non-VIP perpetual/futures trading, with an alternative for the perpetual task only. Bybit spot is a separate product and does not stand for derivatives. Kraken Pro Futures non-US pricing is not Kraken Derivatives US pricing.

Product-specific conditions; source check and update dates remain separate below.
ProductCrypto product and workflowPrice and cost boundaryAccount and access conditions
Bybit
Perpetual and futures trading, non-VIP
Account-based perpetual/futures trading. The cited tariff separately lists spot and options; neither is the selected replacement task.[2]0.02% maker and 0.055% taker at the non-VIP execution tier. For perpetual positions, funding is a payment or receipt between traders. The rate and interval vary by symbol. No contract, holding window or live funding amount was sampled; it is not included below. The cited page states no liquidation fee for perpetual/futures trading. Trading losses still apply. Withdrawals depend on coin and chain; borrowing can incur interest. Spread, slippage and transfer costs are not included.[2]Bybit excludes the United States and other listed jurisdictions. A non-VIP fee does not establish permitted residence, identity verification or account approval; the full account/verification requirements were not established here.[1]
Kraken Pro Futures
Pro Futures, non-US derivatives tariff
Kraken Derivatives (non-US) offers perpetual futures. Kraken Derivatives US provides access to separate US-exchange products; no same-contract replacement is implied.[4]0.02% maker and 0.05% taker under Tier 1: futures 30-day volume below $5M, spot volume from $0, no Tier 1 assets-on-platform threshold. Higher qualifying volume or assets can change the tier; use the applicable cross-platform rules. A current perpetual funding rate and holding cost are not established by this execution-fee table. Its account deposit/withdrawal Funding Fees are a different charge and must not be used as a perpetual funding rate. Deposit and withdrawal fees depend on method and currency. Spread, slippage, collateral or borrowing charges and liquidation costs are not quantified for a selected contract and are excluded, not assumed to be zero.[3]Non-US personal clients require Full verification; business clients require Pro verification and the KYC update. Canada and New Zealand are restricted; UK professional-client and Australian wholesale-client conditions apply. Full geography and contract checks remain necessary; no individual approval is established.[4]

When to consider Kraken Pro Futures

You need perpetual trading and satisfy Kraken's non-US verification and geography rules, with a supported contract and acceptable collateral.

This is a conditional perpetual candidate, not a migration of every Bybit futures/options position. Contract listings, settlement, collateral and leverage equivalence were not checked.

  • The replacement task is perpetual trading. Bybit dated-expiry futures and options need their own contract, settlement and holding-cost comparison; spot-account access does not establish derivatives access.
  • Bybit sources were checked October 7, 2026; Kraken sources October 8. No position, perpetual funding payment, transfer, liquidation, liquidity or total-cost result was measured. no1.exchange does not offer futures trading.

Futures fees: Bybit and Kraken numerical examples

At these entry tiers, both maker rates are 0.02%. Kraken's 0.05% taker rate is below Bybit's 0.055%: $5.00 versus $5.50 per $10,000 fill. This is a two-provider execution-fee comparison, not a finding of the world's cheapest exchange or lowest total holding cost.

Calculated USD-equivalent execution fees on a $10,000 notional fill. A round trip assumes the same notional and fee tier at entry and exit. Bybit source checked October 7, 2026; Kraken sources checked October 8, 2026. Settlement currency and the actual closing notional can differ.

Bybit
Perpetual and futures trading, non-VIP[1]

Kraken
Pro Futures, non-US derivatives tariff[2][3]
0.02% / $2.000.05% / $5.00$7.00$10.00

Fees below use the full position notional, not the margin deposit. In a hypothetical $10,000 position backed by $1,000 at 10x leverage, a 0.05% fill fee is $5.00, not $0.50. This is arithmetic, not a verified leverage allowance; leverage increases exposure and liquidation risk.

For a perpetual position, add the actual funding debits and subtract credits over the holding window, then account for execution and transfer costs. A dated expiry futures contract has different holding and settlement terms; do not copy a perpetual funding rate onto it. Funding is unmeasured here, so none of these execution subtotals is a total-cost quote.

Bybit: tier, holding costs and access[1]

Non-VIP base rates. VIP status can change the tariff; discounts and promotions are not included.

Spread, slippage and transfer costs are not included.

The cited fee page does not establish US access or account approval. Check the applicable regional entity, contract and verification requirements before considering these rates.

Kraken: tier, holding costs and access[2][3]

Tier 1: futures 30-day volume below $5M, spot volume from $0, no Tier 1 assets-on-platform threshold.

Spread, slippage, collateral or borrowing charges and liquidation costs are not quantified for a selected contract and are excluded, not assumed to be zero.

Kraken distinguishes non-US perpetual futures from Kraken Derivatives US. Canada and New Zealand are restricted; UK professional-client and Australian wholesale-client conditions apply. These percentages do not establish US futures fees or eligibility.

These are other providers' derivatives products. no1.exchange does not offer futures trading. No account, trade, funding payment or withdrawal was tested.

Top 10 spot exchanges by volume in a 100-listing snapshot

If you want a popularity shortlist using trading activity as a limited proxy for trading interest, start with Binance global spot. It leads this 100-listing snapshot by tracked 24h volume. The top 5 are Binance global spot, Pionex spot, Tapbit spot, Coinbase Exchange spot and OKX global spot. Comparable active-user counts are unknown.

The source universe is the 100 records returned by page 1 of CoinGecko's spot-exchange dataset. Keep named records with unique IDs and finite positive 24h BTC-equivalent volume; all 100 have usable volume data. Apply no country or brand filter, sort by volume descending, then exchange ID ascending for ties, and take the first 10. The first 5 form the shorter shortlist. This numerical screen does not establish account eligibility in any country.

Recent exchange launches: what actually changed

PrimaryMarkets product descriptions checked October 8, 2026; their update dates come from page metadata. The three query meanings come from historical Google EN/US results of September 24, 2026. No current token offering is verified.

Scroll horizontally on a narrow screen to compare the conditions.

Product or programIntended transactionUseful distinctionWhat to identify next
Your main trading exchange[3]Buy or sell existing crypto through the venue you use for ordinary trading.Main describes your choice of venue; it does not establish a new-token issue or a uniquely best exchange.Match the account product, supported asset, funding method and account eligibility to your transaction.
Primary issuance[4]Obtain newly issued tokens in an initial sale, rather than trade tokens afterward. An initial sale is different from trading an existing token. No currently available offering or buyer allocation is established here.Identify the actual issuer, sale document, allocation and buyer restrictions; those offering-specific facts are unknown here.
PrimaryMarkets[1][2]Raise company capital through equity or convertible bonds, or trade existing private-company shares and fund units in a Trading Hub.The provider describes direct investment into a company separately from secondary trading of existing shares or units. Its FAQ requires AML/KYC and investor-category verification before a trade.Identify the company or fund Trading Hub and its fee document: fees vary by hub. These sources do not establish a retail crypto-swap product, numerical tariff or eligibility for a particular US buyer.

If you want to swap existing crypto to a recipient wallet, use an exchange route. NO1 Exchange does not provide IPO participation or new-token issuance. If you mean a token’s first sale or PrimaryMarkets, that is a different task from exchanging coins you already hold.

The historical sources distinguish terms; they do not establish an available issuance program. The provider documents establish the described PrimaryMarkets securities workflows, not crypto initial issuance. No token issuer, allocation, offering eligibility, legal contracting operator or numerical fee is confirmed. Do not send funds to a token sale on the strength of an article or a similar name.

Sources and what they establish
  1. [1] PrimaryMarkets: capital raising for unlisted companies

External provider document. Checked . Page metadata updated . Provider description of raising capital through equity or convertible bonds and direct company investment. The source date is page metadata, not an offering date or an independently confirmed update.

  2. [2] PrimaryMarkets FAQ: secondary share trading, access and fees

External provider document. Checked . Page metadata updated . Provider statements about existing private-company/fund shares or units, buyer verification and hub-specific fees. Not legal certification, a US eligibility decision or verification of an account or trade.

  3. [3] Investopedia exchange comparison: historical result

Historical search-result classification, not current provider terms. Checked . Ordinary exchange-comparison interpretation from the saved result. It does not establish a universal main exchange or a best-provider verdict.

  4. [4] Acquire.fi: primary and secondary crypto markets, historical result

Historical search-result classification, not current provider terms. Checked . The saved snippet supports a primary-versus-secondary interpretation only. No offering, issuer, sale eligibility or legal classification has been verified.

Crypto products, trading costs and two welcome offers

Compare a welcome reward with the purchase or trade needed to earn it. A crypto-exposure product, a quoted exchange price and a signup bonus have different costs and conditions.

Two provider-published reward programs checked October 8, 2026. Coinbase’s page is undated; Crypto.com’s article displays May 13, 2026. Neither reward is a guaranteed net saving.

Scroll horizontally on a narrow screen to compare the conditions.

Product or programWho qualifiesQualifying activityPublished rewardDeadline and claimReward destinationCosts and exclusions
Coinbase: US-only first purchase[1]New US users; account and payout reviews still apply. This incentive cannot be combined with other offers or promo codes. The first single eligible purchase must be at least $50. Split buys totaling $50 do not qualify; a first buy below $50 forfeits it. Purchases using assets transferred to the portfolio are ineligible.Random Bitcoin reward valued at $10–$2,000. Published distribution: 99% receive $10–$100; 1% receive $1,000 or $2,000. The maximum is not the typical reward.First purchase within one year of account creation unless Coinbase specifies a shorter period. Claim the reward; supplies, eligibility and terms can change.Credited to the Coinbase Bitcoin balance shortly after claiming, according to the first-purchase instructions. This incentive does not establish numerical purchase fees, a net payout or withdrawal rules. Do not import fee discounts or conditions from the other programs on the page.
Crypto.com App: tiered Welcome Bonus[2]New KYC-approved users without a referral-code signup. Residents/citizens of the UK, South Korea and Singapore are excluded; Canada retains legacy rewards. Void where prohibited.Eligible gross trading volume within 30 days, excluding stablecoin pairs. Gross volume is the pre-trade amount before fees, not a deposit or the amount left after fees.Four milestones: $100 → $1–$10; $500 → $5–$20; $1,000 → $10–$50; $5,000 → $25–$100. Each unlocks a randomized mystery-box reward.Earn within 30 days of registration and open each earned box. Days 31–37 allow remaining claims through the Supermenu; unclaimed boxes expire after day 37.Claimed rewards go to the Crypto.com App account. The article does not establish a reward token or withdrawal rules. No additional participation cost is stated; that is not a zero-trading-fee claim. Numerical trade costs remain unknown here. A/B and legacy variants may differ; the up-to-1-BTC legacy headline is not a tiered reward.

For a qualifying first US purchase, Coinbase’s cited incentive measures one purchase of at least $50. Crypto.com’s cited tiered program measures eligible gross trading volume of at least $100 and requires a box claim. These are different thresholds, not comparable deposits or expected profits. If your task is simply a wallet swap, compare the quoted receive amount and route costs rather than a signup headline.

Personal eligibility and the program shown in an account were not tested. No account was created or trade placed. Withdrawal conditions, numerical trading fees and expected net benefits remain unknown. A crypto-exposure security is a different product from either bonus; its current availability is not established by this comparison. Search location alone does not prove account eligibility.

Sources and what they establish
  1. [1] Coinbase: Buy $50 Crypto, Get Bitcoin - US only

External provider document. Checked . Only the first US-only $50 first-purchase incentive on this multi-program page. No promo-code, Advanced referral or Pro-Affiliate conditions are combined with it.

  2. [2] Crypto.com App Welcome Bonus: tiered mystery boxes

External provider document. Checked . Published . Published 2026 tiered App welcome program, eligibility exclusions, gross-volume definition and claim windows. Legacy and A/B variants are separate, not extra tiered rewards.

  3. [3] E*TRADE crypto-exposure products: historical result

Historical search-result classification, not current provider terms. Checked . Historical product-versus-promotion ambiguity, not a current E*TRADE product or tariff verification.

The page lists availability in the US and Singapore. Bank offramps are described, but it does not establish one settlement deadline for every transfer.

[1]

The invoice flow describes conversion to local currency and bank-settlement initiation the next business day. Initiation is not a guarantee that the bank credits every payout that day; jurisdictional eligibility remains a separate check.

Published cost boundary

No fee to apply. A fee is charged on each completed payment; the page tells account holders to log in for current fees. Application cost is not payment cost.

Which business workflow fits?

For collecting invoices while trading and holding crypto in one business account, assess Coinbase Business. For in-store POS, payroll or affiliate payouts with local-currency settlement, assess BitPay. Choose on those requirements first, then confirm eligibility and the full merchant tariff; this comparison does not identify a lowest-cost winner.[1][2]

What Reddit users weigh when choosing an exchange

These two r/CryptoCurrency discussions include different preferences for trading accounts, DEX interfaces and costs. They do not establish a best exchange or a best instant swap service.

An account-based exchange

“Kraken pro”

u/DagorCroc,

This names a trading interface but gives no fee or execution evidence. Use the spot-trading matrix above to check the product and residence conditions.

A wallet-connected swap interface

“Sushi.com for me. A DEX option, and I prefer their UI over the more well known Uniswap.”

u/DBRiMatt,

The preference is about a DEX interface, not a deposit-based instant exchange. For a wallet-connected swap, check the chain, token contract, approval and quoted price impact.

A different service for different assets

“Coinbase for major coins, Cowswap for the rest.”

u/CrimsonFox99,

This is one participant’s allocation, not proof that either service supports your token. Verify the exact asset and network before comparing the resulting amount.

Execution as well as the listed fee

“Execution quality matters just as much as the fee structure”

u/Successful-Bird8775,

For an actual comparison, use the same amount, assets and networks and account for spread and payout costs. This comment supplies no measured fill quality or current tariff.
